“AVE!” was the classic greeting of the Caesars and the passion of this meaningful greeting is reflected the wines of this new project incorporating Tuscany’s tradition and New World modernity of Argentina. In2005, two young men from Tuscany, Italy, Iacopo Di Bugno and Mario Pardini, created AVE…..Italian winemakers in the New World…….in conjunction with renowned winemaker Alberto Antonini. The project consists of approximately 100acres of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Bonarda vineyards located in Perdriel, Lújan de Cuyo, Mendoza; the first delineated appellation for the purposes of wine production in Argentina.

Ave Premium Malbec Rosé 2012: This Rosé is made from 100% Malbec grapes. The grapes, grown at 3,116 feet above sea level, were harvested by hand in April. The grapes are fermented for 25 days at 15ºC in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. A short maceration period of 4 hours at 8ºCin stainless steel tanks this wine began to develop its truly remarkable, intense pink color with violet hues. This Rosé is a translucent red wine with a primary floral bouquet of violets and a secondary fruity bouquet of cherry and red summer fruits. These same aromas are also found on the palate along with very balanced acidity. Overall, an irresistibly flavorful, crisp and easy drinking rose. This wine reminds me of the woman who inspired Cicero in his writings – playful, charming and flirtatious. A temptress. Let yourself be seduced. The perfect accompaniment to a warm summer’s day. Only 10,500 bottles were made.
